The Eastern Star is depicted with the five limits, in their five respective colors. The symbol is known to many mystic, and esoteric faiths and organizations. It’s commonly associated with the Druze, who generally avoid iconography but use five colors to represent the “Five Limits” as a religious symbol: green, red, yellow, blue, and white. Each color pertains to a metaphysical power called ḥaad, literally ‘a limit’.

This piece is formed using the words of these five limits. Each Limit is color-coded in the following manner:
. Green for ʻAql “the Universal Mind/Intelligence/Nous”
. Red for Nafs “the Universal Soul/Self/Anima mundi”
. Yellow for Kalima “the Word/Logos”,
. Blue for Sabiq “the Potentiality/Cause/Precedent”
. White for Tali “the Future/Effect/Immanence”.

الحدود الخمسة: العقل ، النفس ، الكلمة ، السابق والتالي

في هذه القطعة تم تصوير نجمة الشرق الخماسية بألوانها الخمسة فهو رمز متعارف عليه لدى العديد من الأديان والمذاهب الصوفية بشكل عام والباطنية بشكل خاص.
يشيع استخدام هذا الرمز عند الطائفة الدرزيّة؛ وهي طائفة تتجنب بشكل عام استخدام الأيقونات في طقوسها الدينية وإنما استخدموا الألوان في هذه النجمة لتمثيل حدود الله الخمسة كرمزية ميتافيزيقية. الألوان هي الأخضر الأحمر الأصفر الأزرق والأبيض وكلّ لون على حدا يرمز إلى قوة ميتافيزيقية تمسى حرفيا “حَدّ”.
تم تصوير هذا العمل بكتابة أسماء تلك “الحُدود” على الألوان المطابقة لها في الجوهر باستخدام الخط العربي الديواني الجلي ويرمز كلّ لون منها إلى القضايا التالية.
الأخضر “العقل” ويرمز ل العقل-الذكاء-الإرادة.
الأحمر “النفس” ويرمز ل الروح الكليّة-الذّات-المشيئة.
الأصفر “الكلمة” ويرمز ل البشارة- سفير القدرة.
الأزرق “السابق” ويرمز ل الإمكانيّة-علّة السبب-البَاعث
الأبيض “التالي” ويرمز ل المستقبل-التأثير-التأصّل.

L’Étoile de l’Est est représentée avec les cinq limites, dans leurs cinq couleurs respectives. Le symbole est connu de nombreuses confessions et organisations mystiques et ésotériques. Il est communément associé aux Druzes, qui évitent généralement l’iconographie mais utilisent cinq couleurs pour représenter les “Cinq Limites” en tant que symbole religieux : vert, rouge, jaune, bleu et blanc. Chaque couleur appartient à un pouvoir métaphysique appelé aad, littéralement « une limite ».

Cette pièce est formée en utilisant les mots de ces cinq limites. Chaque limite est codée par couleur de la manière suivante :
. Vert pour ʻAql “la Pensée/ Intelligence Universelle/Nous”
. Rouge pour Nafs « l’âme universelle/le Soi/l’Anima mundi »
. Jaune pour Kalima « le Mot/Logos »,
. Bleu pour Sabiq « la potentialité/la cause/le précédent »
. Blanc pour Tali “le Futur/Effet/Immanence”.
