Arabic Calligraphy – Joplin’s HorseThis Arabic calligraphy limited edition print features the stallion of Stuttgart depicted with a quote from Janis Joplin’s song ”Mercedes Benz”. The quote is written five times the horse in both Lebanese dialect and classical Arabic. Underneath the horse, the quote is written in dialect in Diwani, and in classical Arabic in Jali Diwani “Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz? My friends all drive Porches, I must make amends.”

تظهر هذه الطبعة المحدودة من الخط العربي صورة حصان شتوتغارت الجامح؛ تم تشكيل صورة هذا الرسم بكلمات مقتبسة من اغنية “مرسيدس بنز” للمغنية الشهيرة “جانيس جوبلن”.
كتب هذا الاقتباس باستخدام كل من اللهجة العامية والفصحى مكررة خمس مرات لتشكيل صورة الحصان الجامح، كما تم رسم العبارة ذاتها باللهجة الفصحى والعامية أسفل الحصان بالخط العربي الديواني الجلي.
يقول المقطع بالترجمة العربية العامية:
” يارب ماراح تشتريلي مرسيدس بنز؟ أصحابي كلّن يركبوا بورشات ولازم أخلص من هالشغلة”.
أمّا باللغة الفصحى فيقول:
يارب ألا تشتري لي سيارة مرسيدس؟ رفاقي يركبون سيارات بورش وعلىّ أن أصلح ذلك.

Cette impression en édition limitée de calligraphie arabe présente l’étalon de Stuttgart représenté avec une citation de la chanson “Mercedes Benz” de Janis Joplin.
La citation est écrite cinq fois le cheval en dialecte libanais et en arabe classique. Sous le cheval, la citation est écrite en dialecte en Diwani et en arabe classique en Jali Diwani
« Oh Seigneur, ne veux-tu pas m’acheter une Mercedes Benz ? Mes amis conduisent tous Porches, je dois faire amende honorable.
