يصوّر هذا النص المادة السابعة من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان. هذا العمل هو بمثابة تذكير بأنه حتى في الوقت الذي اختارت فيه الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الإنسحاب من مجلس حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة؛ كان مجتمع الميم في دول مثل لبنان يكسبون زخما شعبيا وذلك بإثباتها للعالم بأن القيادة ممكنة في مكان آخر.
تقول المادة السابعة من الإعلان:
“الناس جميعا سواءٌ أمام القانون، وهم يتساوون في حقّ التمتع بحماية القانون دونما تمييز، كما يتساوون في حقّ التمتع بالحماية من أيّ تمييز ينتهك هذا الإعلان ومن أي تحريض على مثل هذا التمييز.”

Présentant un texte de la Déclaration Universelle des Droits de l’Homme (DUDH), cet article rappelle que même à un moment où les États-Unis ont choisi de se retirer du Conseil des droits de l’homme des Nations Unies, les militants LGBTQ dans des pays comme le Liban gagnent du terrain, prouvant au monde le leadership est possible ailleurs.
