The poem, written specifically for this piece, also comprises the entire subject matter of the piece. The poem is written once from beginning to finish in the background, while the four characters are also illustrated using various words from the poem. The stones being thrown by the Palestinian youths each say “‘Hubb’ which means ‘love’ in Arabic. All of the words are of course written in the Diwani Djali script. Translation below:
